Staying at Port Aventura Hotels…

PROs & CONs

Thinking of furthering your Port Aventura experience by staying at one of their hotels? Read this review & I will give you my personal PRO & CON list that will hopefully help with your decision making!

  • Unlimited Entry to the Park

When you arrive you collect your own personal key card which provides you with unlimited access to the park! You can completely come & go as you please between the hotel & Park so if the rides get too much for you & you need a siesta – you can!! Then head back out in the evening for more – the park is very cool at night & no queues for your favourite rides!

  • 4 Star **** Hotels with half or full board

You get all the luxuries of a 4 star hotel, which includes for us foodies – the breakfast buffet! I don’t have any photos of this because I was too busy eating too much (and subsequently hoping it wouldn’t come back up on the next rollercoaster) but I can assure you that it is perfect! Coffee, juice, pastries, hot breakfast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, pancakes, maple syrup, choc sauce, churros, everything you can imagine in an unlimited quantity! Treat yo self!

  • Discounts on tickets

Many moons ago you only had the main Port Aventura Theme Park, however they are constantly expanding and now Port Aventura World includes a water park (perfect or those summer months) and Ferrari Land (brand new this year!) When you stay at one of the hotels you get a discount on the Aquatic Park! Bonus!

  • 1 Day access to Ferrari Land per guest, per stay.

Speaking on bonuses… Ferrari Land opened it’s doors this year and at the moment they are offering a free day pass per person included when you book to stay! We really enjoyed our time at Ferrari Land and the Red Force rollercoaster is probably the best thing out there! Being the highest rollercoaster in Europe, with Ferrari like speeds – it is amazing! You can find out more about the Parks in my blog postΒ A day out at Ferrari Land & Port Aventura!

  • No rushing around!

This was one of our favourite advantages of staying at the Port Aventura Hotel! When we usually go to Port Aventura from Barcelona it means getting up very early to catch the train down before the crowds descend and having to leave early to catch the last train back which is quite early (Check the times first if you are thinking of doing the same!) But staying at the hotel which is located inside the park meant we could go early and we could stay late! We loved being able to watch the parade and fireworks every night and I’m sure if you have kids they will too! The bonus of staying in the park is that you only have a few sleepy steps to walk at the end of the night! If you would like a quick glimpse of the late night shows & fireworks check out my instagram (The Wee Wanderer Blogger) feed for some short video teasers!

  • Full use of the facilities both days when you check in & check out.

This meant that the day we arrived we only had to drop off our bags with the hotel staff & we could go straight to the park! Coming back a few hours later to find your luggage has been placed in your room for you – very nice and stressfree! Similarly on your check out day you are welcome to use all the park and hotel facilities. This means that even though you check out at 11 you can use the park all day – or if you are in need of some R&R – you may use the pool facilities all day! Absolutely wonderful! A quick go on your favourite rides followed by a few hours topping up your tan poolside is just what the doctor ordered!

  • Gym, Sauna & Jacuzzi use only included in certain room types.

This is the only con I could really find. Use of the gym facilities was only included in certain room types, otherwise you need to pay 10euros per day per person, which if you are a gym bunny might not be ideal!
