Afternoon Tea at The Corinthian Club

Afternoon tea is something, I must confess,  I miss when living abroad. So I was so happy to fly back to Scotland recently for a lovely celebration and of course a wonderful excuse for an afternoon tea with some very special ladies!

Glasgow, Scotland is full of culture and many, many a nice place to eat! There are also many beautiful spots for afternoon tea but I choose The Corinthian Club and I’m so glad I did!

The Corinthian Club

The Corinthian Club is located in the luxurious Merchant City of Glasgow and has a varied history. When afternoon tea’ing in the main room you would never suspect it was once someone’s home and even a courtroom!

The Corinthian has a lot to offer if you are visiting Glasgow, from private functions, weddings, afternoon tea, fine dining, piano bar, teller bar, club and even a casino to complete your night.

As soon as you find the impressive building you can’t help but know it’s going to be special.

The entrance hall is beautiful from the floor to the roof…

Tellers Bar & Brasserie

This is my favourite room in the entire grand building. It’s dome and ceiling are absolutely stunning and make for a beautiful setting, whether it be for afternoon tea in the day or drinks at night.

We were at a large group table but I would love to try one of these pods next time!

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea was both delicious and so reasonably priced! You can get afternoon tea for a mere £16 or £21 if you would like to add Prosecco (Which you always should!). This is incredibly reasonable both compared to other places in Glasgow and for a place as beautiful as this!

You begin with the bottom layer plate which contains a mixture of sandwiches and wraps. Then work your way up to the cutest cakes and tarts you have ever seen! They were all divine! Trust me! Then you finish with a Scone which must of course be complimented by jam and as much clotted cream as you can fit on the top! Them’s the rules!

I shall leave you with the quote I found inside my jam jar…

Eat Well, Love life!
