Now there are approximately one million, trillion bars in Barcelona & It’s so hard to choose only a few to recommend but I have tried to narrow it down and I give you some of my favourite bars close to the beach in Barcelona!!
Chiringuitos by the beach
Whichever beach you travel to in Spain, during the summer months you will find ‘Chiringuitos‘ and Barcelona is no exception! They pop up around Spring/ Easter time and stay for the summer months to offer you food and drink as you dip in and out of the sea, take a break from sunbathing or simply people watch your afternoon away.
What better way to spend the day?
Barcelona is famous for Cava so don’t forget to try a Catalan twist on the Spanish sangria with a Sangria de Cava!
Barceloneta
Palmito
If you fancy staying by the beach but are looking for a bar where you can get all dolled up with the chicas and enjoy the summer tunes which are guaranteed to get you in the mood for a party try Palmito. The vibe is amazing and the flavoured mojitos are too!
Vila Olimpica, Carrer de Ramon Trias Fargas, 2-4
Surf House
Surf house, relatively new but now so popular you can expect to see people queuing day or night! Because really, who wouldn’t want to eat and drink off a surf board with views of the beach?! My personal favourite thing to do is get a good spot, order some big ass cocktails and people watch from day til dusk – and if you are lucky you will find your ears tickled by swing music as locals and tourists alike dance their troubles away…
Carrer de l’Almirall Aixada, 22
The Coconut Club
Just above the beach you will find The Coconut club. Now this bar comes with a warning – their cocktails pack a punch! My personal favourite – The Hurricane – offers a delightful treat for your tastebuds, but cuidado if you’re anything like me you couldn’t have too many!
If you are lucky they will also have a live dj which is a treat!
Vila Olimpica, Calle Marina 19 – 21
Bar Ke
If you fancy drinking with the local barceloneta folk, go a short walk from the beach to Placa del poeta bosca, where at different times during the year you will find festivals, with stages set up in the middle of the square. If that’s not happening you are definitely free to wander the market with the locals, play ping pong at the free tables on the square or simply sit and enjoy a mojito at the colourful tables of Bar Ke.
Carrer Baluard, 54
Vicino
A firm favourite between me and my friends, stylish, Italian, cute terraza and food and drinks to die for! Whether you fancy some antipasti, small but tasty bowls of gnocchi or a fresh pizzetta this is the place for you! Not to mention their stylish bar offering any drink you could want… from the simple Aperol Spritz to cocktails galore – this is one not to be missed!
Passeig de Joan de Borbó, 68
One Ocean Club
If hobnobbing with the yacht owners is more your style get over to One Ocean Club. Where the drinks are as sweet as the view and the live music – if you are lucky enough to catch some! Chilled by day and exhilarating by night!
Moll de la Barceloneta, 1
I hope you have enjoyed these bars in the Barceloneta area! Please comment if you have any new ones for me to try!
