Airbnb in the French Pyrenees!

Fancy waking up in the middle of the French countryside? This Airbnb I recently stayed in with a large group is perfect for a quiet getaway surrounded by friends or family. With log fires, free home-made apple juice and stunning scenery all around, and an absolute bargain at 20 euros each per night, what more could you ask for?

The airbnb is owned by a family who turned a dilapidated farmhouse into a luxurious, yet hipster stay. The main living space has an open plan design, with a real log fire, long table for shared meals and a kitchen overseeing the whole room which means no-one misses out on any of the fun. It is perfect for a large group of friends or big family. The bedrooms themselves are just as luxurious, with beautiful views, private bathrooms and even some ‘treehouse’ beds on the top floor. The whole project took them 8 years and it has been done to such a high spec.

The family who own this airbnb live in a house on the same piece of land, which is so helpful because they were lovely, helped us with our car in the snow, gave us advice on where to go walking nearby and also gave us our space to enjoy our weekend.

The views from the house.

(We were lucky enough to get snow whilst we were staying there but I think these views would be equally as beautiful in the spring and summer months.)

The animals. There are animals that live on site. This means that you cannot bring your own pet but they are the friendliest animals I have ever met! The 3 dogs came to welcome us as we arrived and even went on a huge walk with us to keep us safe the next day. The donkeys are so nice and we even got to feed them some carrots! There is also a cat on site for all you cat lovers out there!

The closest village to walk to is Marsa. It is a small village and if you are looking for a restaurant or patisserie you best keep walking a few more km to the next village but it is a great spot for a walk and a place to stop for a picnic.

Along the walk.
