Sefton Park Hotel, Liverpool!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sefton Park Hotel, Liverpool in one of their newly renovated ‘Cosy double’ rooms and it was delightful! Let me share with you my favourite things about staying at Sefton Park Hotel…

As you approach the hotel you are greeted by a listed gateway which just adds to the charm and character of the area.

Situated beautifully to the right of this gate, opposite the boating lake of Sefton Park is Sefton Park Hotel. A hotel steeped with local history. This Victorian build once belonged to Stuart Sutcliffe who was an original member of The Beatles, it was his family home and has been restored to tastefully pay homage to the band.

As you approach the entrance of the hotel you can see the beautiful outdoor terrace which the owner has built and is bringing life to it this summer with the ‘Gin Tin’ which will carry all your favourite gins & prosecco for a light tipple during the summer months.

The building itself is an old Victorian House which has kept its’ charm whilst being brought up to date with the decor inside.

As you step inside you are welcomed into an Irish themed bar O’Connors which welcomes locals and holiday goers alike. Locals keep going back for the friendly service and you can often find the owner Conor behind the bar himself.

Across from the Irish bar is a restaurant which has been done very nicely. I enjoyed b&b whilst I was there and I certainly enjoyed making my way through the extensive breakfast menu which has the traditional ‘Full English’ as well as brunch favourites: pancakes and eggs benedict. The lunch and dinner menu is also fantastic and the staff are on hand all day so you may eat when you wish. I enjoyed some English favourites such as ‘Bangers & Mash’ and ‘Fish & Chips’ during my stay and it should be noted that they do a wonderful roast on a Sunday. Being greeted with fresh flowers each day was also a lovely touch.

As you walk through the hallway you can see Beatles memorabilia which gives a tasteful nod to the Hotel’s history.

Now the hotel is currently undergoing further renovations as each room is being done to a lovely standard. I was lucky enough to be one of the first to stay in the ‘Cosy Double’ and it certainly was that. I loved the wallpaper and the luxurious feel of the room.

The Hotel also has a function room downstairs with a built in Marquee which suits weddings, christenings, meetings and parties. It is very popular and had an event on everyday I was staying there so call ahead to book in advance.

For me though, above all, the thing I would recommend most is the staff.  They were all so friendly and accommodating, willing to help with anything you might need and always with a smile on their faces! From the owner himself to each member of staff on the Reception Desk to the wait staff serving you at meal times. Everyone was delightful!

I can safely say I will definitely be back and I hope you will too!
